How to Prepare Your Home for Sale:
It is a great market to get the
most money for your home and as you know, you never get a second chance
for a first impression! That is why curb appeal is so very important,
so here a few tips from the outside to the inside of your home to help
it look its very best!
Start with the Yard! Prune
trees and shrubs, make sure there aren't any branches overhanging the roof.
Mow the lawn, plant flowers for color if the season permits!
Fix Everything!
Walk around the house, pretend
you are a buyer, what do you think? (and how
much would you deduct from the asking
price for simple repairs?) Fix or replace screen doors, fences, shutters
and gutters. Paint! Fresh paint has the lowest cost and most dramatic improvement
in looks!
Unclutter Your Surroundings:
Inside and outside of the home, garage and basement, less clutter makes
a home seem larger. Have a garage sale, donate to charity or rent
a storage unit, give the appearance of space.
Clean, clean, clean: Start
with the carpeting and floors, walls, windows and furniture. A well kept
home gives a sign that everything has been kept up equally as well. That
equates to higher value, a messy home says "what else has been neglected?"
